Last updated: March 2026

1. What this service is

Tarulease lets you lease a real, fruit-bearing tree on an active farm in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. For one season, that tree is yours in name and in yield. We maintain it, photograph it, harvest it, and ship the fruit to your door.

Leasing a tree does not give you ownership of the tree or the land. You receive the rights to that tree's produce for one season, nothing more.

2. Who can use Tarulease

You must be 18 or older and legally capable of entering a contract under Indian law.

3. Plans

We offer two plans. The exact prices, kg guarantees, and delivery counts are shown at checkout and on each tree's listing page. The two plan types are:

Taru

The standard plan. A real tree, a guaranteed minimum harvest, regular updates, and doorstep delivery across 3 batches.

Taru Plus

Everything in Taru, with a higher guaranteed yield, an extra delivery, and priority support throughout the season.

All plan details are subject to change before your booking is confirmed. Once confirmed, the terms shown at checkout apply.

4. Booking and tree assignment

Your booking is confirmed only after full payment clears. We then assign a tree based on availability. You'll receive your tree's details — photos, location region, farmer name — once the assignment is done. Trees are assigned on a first-come basis. We can't hold trees without payment.

5. Duration of your lease

Each lease covers one fruit season. The exact dates vary by variety and location — mango season in coastal AP runs differently from Telangana's orchards. Your lease page will show the active months. When the season ends, the lease ends. There is no automatic renewal.

6. What we commit to

When you lease a tree from us, here's what we do:

  • Assign a healthy, actively fruiting tree
  • Put a nameplate with your name on it
  • Monitor the tree through the growing season
  • Send you regular photos and field notes from the farmer
  • Harvest your fruit at the right time — not early, not late
  • Pack and ship to your address in batches across the season
  • Handle the delivery coordination end to end

7. What we ask of you

  • Provide an accurate delivery address — we cannot reroute shipments after dispatch
  • Pay the full lease amount before a tree is assigned
  • Understand that farming involves natural variability — yields shift with rain, temperature, and conditions on the farm
  • Pay the per-shipment delivery charge when each batch is ready — this is separate from the lease fee
  • Keep your contact details updated so we can reach you during the season

8. Payments

Lease fees are paid in full at booking. Delivery fees are charged per batch — you pay when each shipment is ready to go. All payments are processed through Razorpay. We don't store card or UPI information. Your lease fee covers the tree, the season's care, and the harvest. Delivery logistics are charged separately.

9. Weather and crop risk

Farming is not a factory. Rain patterns shift, pest pressures vary, unseasonal heat can affect yield. We plan for this — we don't promise what the sky won't allow.

If your tree yields less than the minimum we guaranteed, we make up the difference with fruit from other trees on the farm. We stand behind the guarantee.

In the rare event of a complete crop loss due to something genuinely catastrophic — a natural disaster, a disease that wipes the entire orchard — we will refund your lease fee in full. No questions, no bureaucracy.

We are not liable for delays or partial yield reductions caused by weather, pests, or conditions outside our control that don't reach that threshold.

10. Cancellations and refunds

Once a tree is assigned to you, the lease fee is non-refundable except in the case of complete crop failure described above. If you have a specific concern before a tree is assigned, write to us and we'll work something out.

11. Disputes

If something goes wrong and we can't resolve it between us, disputes will be handled under Indian law, with arbitration in Hyderabad, conducted in English. For delivery disputes, we ask that you send an unboxing video as supporting documentation — this helps us investigate quickly and fairly.

12. Contact
