Cancellation & Refund Policy

We want to be clear about what happens if plans change. This policy is short and direct because the situations are not complicated. Read it before you book.
1. Cancelling before your tree is assigned
If you cancel within 7 days of booking and your tree has not yet been assigned to you, we will refund your payment minus the Razorpay payment gateway charges. Those charges go to Razorpay, not to us, and we cannot recover them on your behalf.
To cancel, write to connect@tarulease.in with your booking reference. We'll confirm the cancellation and start the refund process.
2. After your tree is assigned - no refunds
Once we assign a tree to you, work on the farm has already begun. The farmer has your nameplate ready, the orchard team has logged your tree in their season plan, and the monitoring cycle has started. At that point, we cannot undo the commitment we've made to the farmer on your behalf.
This is not a policy designed to protect us from you. Farmers are small operators running on tight seasonal margins. When a booking is confirmed and work begins, that farmer has given up the chance to allocate that tree to someone else. A last-minute cancellation causes real harm to them. So we hold the line here.
If your circumstances have genuinely changed, write to us anyway. We'll see what we can do. We won't promise a refund, but we won't ignore you either.
3. If we cancel your booking
Sometimes we have to cancel - because a tree becomes unavailable, farm conditions change, or something on our side prevents us from fulfilling a booking. When that happens, you get:
- —A full refund, including gateway charges - or
- —An alternate tree of equal or better value, with your agreement
The choice is yours. We will contact you before making any decision on your booking.
4. Complete crop loss
In the rare event that your tree produces nothing at all - due to a natural disaster, a disease outbreak across the orchard, or something genuinely beyond anyone's control - we will refund your full lease fee. No deductions, no questions.
This is a separate situation from a reduced yield. If your tree produces less than the guaranteed minimum, we make up the difference with fruit from other trees on the farm. The refund above applies only when there is truly nothing to deliver.
5. Failed or duplicate payments
If your payment failed but your account was charged, or if you were charged twice, we will sort it out with Razorpay and get the money back to you. Write to us with your payment details and we'll resolve it as quickly as we can.
6. How long refunds take
Once we approve a refund, it takes 7 to 10 working days to reach your account. That timeline is set by your bank and Razorpay, not by us. We'll send you a confirmation when the refund is initiated on our end.
