The carbide problem
The majority of mangoes sold in Indian markets are ripened with calcium carbide — a chemical banned by FSSAI for direct use on food. The gas it releases softens fruit before the natural sugars have developed, producing fruit that looks ripe but lacks flavour and shelf stability. When you lease a tree on Tarulease, your mangoes spend 4 to 6 additional weeks on the branch developing their full sugar profile, aromatic oils, and the distinct taste that heritage varieties like Banganapalli and Imam Pasand are known for.
Direct income for farmers
At traditional market rates, a mango farmer in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana receives roughly ₹60 per kilogram — under 30% of what the fruit retails for after aggregators, cold storage facilities, and middlemen take their share. Tarulease's direct leasing model ensures farmers receive ₹100 or more per kilogram, paid before the season begins. That pre-season advance lets farmers invest in their orchards rather than survive harvest to harvest on thin margins.
How It Works
Three steps. That's it.
Pick Your Tree
Browse real trees listed by verified farmers across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and other growing regions. Each listing shows the tree's age, variety, GI tag status, guaranteed minimum yield in kilograms, past season harvest data, and photos of the actual tree. Choose by variety — Banganapalli, Imam Pasand, Suvarnarekha, Rasalu, or Totapuri — and pick the farm that feels right.
Watch It Grow
Once you lease, your farmer sends regular photo and video updates of your tree as the season progresses — from flowering through fruit set to ripening. You can track growth, ask the farmer questions, and even plan a visit to the orchard during the season. The tree is yours for the year.
Receive Your Mangoes
When your mangoes reach peak ripeness on the branch, the farmer harvests and ships within 24 hours. Cold-chain logistics deliver to your door in 3 to 6 days depending on your location. You pay a transparent per-shipment delivery fee based on weight. Larger trees ship in multiple batches across the season — you get updates before each dispatch.

The tree lease model works for any orchard fruit. After launching with mangoes in 2025, Tarulease is expanding to guava, sapota, pomegranate, and orange varieties grown by the same network of verified farmers. Each new fruit follows the same principles — named tree, minimum yield guarantee, direct farm-to-door delivery with no middlemen.

Coming 2027Our Manifesto
“When you lease a tree, you're not just buying mangoes. You're preserving heritage, supporting a farmer's livelihood, and reclaiming the real taste of nature.”
Your tree. Your farmer. Your mangoes.
India grows more mangoes than any other country — over 24 million tonnes a year, spanning 1,500+ named varieties, many of them centuries old. Yet most Indians have never tasted a tree-ripened Imam Pasand, a GI-tagged Banganapalli at peak brix, or a Suvarnarekha still warm from the branch. The industrial supply chain harvests fruit 10 to 14 days early, chills it, ships it, and chemically ripens it at the destination. By then, the flavour is gone.
Tarulease exists to fix that. We work directly with orchard farmers — families who have tended the same groves for two and three generations — and let you lease a single tree. No batch. No warehouse. No compromise. The fruit that reaches your door was on the branch 24 hours ago. That is what a mango is supposed to taste like.
Common Questions
How do I know I'll actually get mangoes?
Every tree comes with a minimum kg guarantee based on its age and variety. If the yield is lower due to climate factors, we fulfill your quota from buffer trees in the same farm.
Can I visit my tree?
Absolutely! We encourage farm visits. Coordinate with your farmer through the app and plan a visit during the growing season. Many families turn it into a weekend trip.
What if the tree dies?
In the rare event of tree loss, we'll reassign you to an equivalent tree on the same farm or provide a full refund. Every tree is insured against natural calamities.
How is delivery handled?
When your mangoes are ripe, we harvest and ship within 24 hours using cold-chain logistics. Delivery takes 3-6 days depending on your location. You pay a per-shipment delivery fee.
Can I gift a lease?
Yes! Tree leases make wonderful gifts. You can gift a lease to anyone — we'll send them a beautiful digital certificate and onboard them to receive updates.
Are the payments secure?
All payments are processed through Razorpay, India's leading payment gateway. We support UPI, cards, net banking, and EMI options. Your data is fully encrypted.
